Demonblood and Spellbound #3

Hi everyone,

First off, thanks SO much for your interest in these books, and for coming to my site to check on their status. I am so sorry to say that I've had to push the dates back a bit for "Curse of Shadows and Light" and also for "Dawn of the Morningstar". It is disappointing for me to not have these ready by the date I'd hoped, but unfortunately many things happened over the summer that simply prevented me from having the time to write that I needed.

I'm hesitant to give any firm release dates at this time, but what I can say is that I am working VERY HARD on them, and really hope to have both done by the end of the year...hopefully sooner. Spellbound #3, "Dawn of the Morningstar" should be done first, followed by Demonblood #3, "Curse of Shadows and Light".

Again, my apologies for not coming in on my target time, but I hope you'll think they're worth the wait!! :-)

I love you all and thanks so much for your support. I'm so fortunate to have such amazing readers who continually inspire me.

Love,
Penelope

  3. Hi, I just came across "Witchy Witch" in the limited time free offers section of the kindle store maybe 24 hrs ago. The description sounded promising so even though I try not to give into the temptation of "free" when it comes to books in the Kindle store I went for it. And let me tell you, I am SOO happy I did! I could not put the book down! In fact, I just ordered "Kiss the Crystal Sun" I can not wait to read it, and I will definitely be trying the Demonblood series next! You are an incredible author and I can not wait to read more of your stories!

  5. Wow! All I can say is keep writing, your books are amazing! Finished the Spellbound books, just read A Demon Made me Do It, and I will be starting Fire with Fire in a few moments. I will be sad once I won't have anymore books of yours to read. Thanks so much for your wonderful books and I can't wait till the next ones come out.

  7. I started reading "Witchy Witch" last night....I stayed up reading until 2am and had to force myself to put it down and go to sleep. I just finished the second book and REALLY REALLY REALLY need the third one!!! Arrrggghh! I can't wait to read it and am subscribing to this blog so I know as soon as it comes out. I must tell you -- I truly enjoyed the world you created. It made me think of Anne Rice and JK Rowling...you are a very talented writer. I wish everyone (especially young girls) who loved the Twilight books would read yours and see how the genre SHOULD be done. Thank you for the books and I am really looking forward to the third book! Funny thing..I didn't even realize these were YA books until I found your blog. I'm 31. That's a sign of a really good book for sure. :)

    1. okay...wow. Mind if I print this up and frame it and put it on my wall? :D Those women are 2 of my top author idols so you humble me even putting me in the same sentence (paragraph, page, lol). I could only hope one day to be half as amazing.I'm so happy that you are enjoying Witchy and I'm busting my butt to get the next one out ASAP. I just want it to be so good and it keeps getting longer and longer!!
Your words mean everything to me and I'm so happy you connected with me!!
And age aint nothing but a number, right? YA is a state of mind, I always say (and I'm older than 31!) :D

  8. Ms. King I just finished the second books of the Spellbound and Demonblood series. I could not stop! I started on Friday with Kiss and ended this morning (Sunday) with Fire with Fire! One thing I must say, based on the titles of the first books I was not expecting much, they sounded cheesy and they were free but I decided to give them a shot anyway since I cant pass up a freebie lol. I was so pleasantly surprised by your captivating writing that I blew threw all four books in less than a week! I love the idea behind both series and I just can not convey how much they sucked me in and left me wanting more! I have never felt compelled to write to an author before but I just couldn't resist singing my praises to you! These were great, absolutely awesome and I WILL be recommending both series to all my friends :-) Thank you for sharing your stories with us! I cant wait to hear more!

    1. Hehe, well I'm so happy you gave them a shot! I've been so surprised with the great reaction from readers and I'm thrilled you took a chance on me and my books. LOL I'll be the first to admit that titles give me some trouble...I wanted them to stand out, be different, but also give some hint as to what the books are about. My weird book pet peeve is these one-word titles that tell me nothing when I see them. So I went the total opposite way :D I couldn't be happier that you enjoyed reading them, and hearing from you is exactly why I love to write so I'm glad you reached out!!

  9. I've finished all four books and keep looking for more things you've written, but I cant find anything! You should've started writing these stories long ago so that we'd at least have something else to hold us over until you're done creating lol. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Witchy and Demonblood series and cant wait to read number 3(s). And please, can you tell us.. do they end up being mixed together??

    1. Hi Courtney :)
Yes, so far those four are the only ones published, but I'm working night and day (literally!) to get more out ASAP!! There was a long stretch where I couldn't get any writing done but now I'm working double time. I'm SO happy you are enjoying the series and Spellbound #3 will be out soon! We just finished the cover tonight and it is sooo perfect. I love it!!

As far as them intersecting...what we know so far is that Ana from Spellbound and Tatiana from Demonblood are twins. (Hard to say too much here without saying spoilers...eeps)...well, at the end of "Fire with Fire", you know where Lucky was heading...but did you also catch who gave Calista her "invitation" to go to Crystal Cove in the beginning of "Kiss?" hehe... the crossover will be more apparent in the next Demonblood book "Curse of Shadows and Light". Fun! Thanks for reading and for your support!!

  10. Just finished demon blood series up to book no. 2!! I thought for sure no 2 would be the end of it, but then in the last paragraph...tada set up for book no3!!!!! I am so excited. Do we have a release date? I don't yet see it on amazon. Also I have read that you are an indie writer. Does this mean you are self published? And how does that work? I am so excited that.
    you might write back!!
    Sincerely a huge fan,
    Misty

  11. Hi Misty,
Yes, Demon will have a part 3 (and 4), but as of now there is no official date just yet, but there will be soon! The next release will be the prequel to Spellbound series called LOVESPELL. It's really tough juggling two series at once but they should be wrapping up here soon.

And yes, I am an indie writer :-) I've been writing for a long time and worked in traditional publishing for a spell and decided this was the right path for me. It's really tough but I love it!!! As to your ? "how does that work"...the explanation is far to involved to answer here but there are many fabulous sites and groups (like on Facebook or Goodreads) that can help explain it better :)
Thanks for reading and for writing! :)
    xoxo
