      Hi Naomi,
      Funny you should ask that... :-) This question actually gets answered in the opening pages of the next book LOVESPELL (the one from Gabby's point of view). I really wanted to explain it in the first books but unfortunately there was never the right place to do it organically without it feeling shoved in there. Lovespell will be out pretty soon and even if you don't want to read the whole thing the explanation will be in the opening pages that you'll be able to read in the sample on Amazon (or wherever)
